DNS Cache Poisoning

A number of our customers have expressed concern after seeing news articles or security alerts regarding this so-called “DNS Cache Poisoning” vulnerability.

Like many of these issues, by the time the press gets hold of them, the degree of danger is wildly overstated. And Radiant’s DNS servers use software that is nowhere near as vulnerable as the more commonly used Microsoft or Cisco software typically deployed in enterprises.

But, nonetheless Radiant takes this and all other security issues seriously. We have been aware of this problem for two weeks, researched the issue, and have now adjusted our DNS software to protect against this vulnerability. However, before we actually deploy the patched software, we are testing to ensure that it works properly and does not introduce any other vulnerabilities. We are rolling servers with the patched software into production through this week.

Radiant’s customers do not have to worry about this issue.
